Well I am from the Midwest ~ Chicago. I grew up on the Southeast side and there were some mixed people but they were few and far between, maybe 5% of the population. Half of those people were part of my family, lol. The neighborhood I grew up in was predominantly blacks, puerto ricans, and mexicans, some whites. My fiance and his family settled up North (Chicago) when he was a boy and at least 40% of the people up there are mixed. ALL my fiance's childhood and friends from H.S. are mostly mixed. Not just Black/White but Black/Asian, Black/PR, White/Mex, Mex/Black, Native American/Black and the list goes on and on...Now that we are getting older several of them have had kids w/ other mulattos just like us. Our kids could fill up a small city, lol and they are all MGM's ( Mulattos, Quadroons, even some Octoroons).

My mother is from up North, ie Yorkshire/Cleveland. But she is white. My family is in Saltburn and Yarm. I'm from London like many UK mixed race people. But on my visits to the north as a kid and teenager I never saw any mixed race people or people of colour around. I haven't been up North since the early 1990's, so I have no idea what it's like now. I presume it's still the same demographically speaking.
